Kinja'd!!!

It was gorgeous out, so I did some exploring.

Driving up a tree lined road, when I notice a clearing up ahead. That clearing is home to that ridiculously large chair as well as pretty nice view.

Kinja'd!!!

Curious as to what those two pillars of smoke were in the distance, I switched to my 300 mm lens.

Kinja'd!!!

Still not sure. There aren’t any nuclear power stations in the area or even in that direction.

Pfft.

Kinja'd!!!

Further down the same road, down a twisty section, I notice ruins on the hillside. I pull off as soon as I can, but will have to walk back a little ways.

Kinja'd!!!

But first I walk down a path where I pulled off the road.

Kinja'd!!!

I didn’t notice that little red shack until after I went through the photos.

Kinja'd!!!

Then I make the hike up the road.

Kinja'd!!!

Once you hop the guard rail, you notice there are steps leading to a concrete bridge.

Kinja'd!!!

The steps coming from the road appear recently replaced. I wonder if this building has/had some historical importance?

Kinja'd!!!

There are no markers or anything if it is. Perhaps just an awesome abandoned residence.

Kinja'd!!!

An ominous inscription, but also what leads me to believe it might’ve seen some recent(early 90's) work.

Kinja'd!!!

The bridge looked a little sketchy.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I was hesitant walking over that bridge. But I wasn’t going to walk on the already collapsed floor of the building.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Were I not a chicken shit, and had a flash light, I might’ve ventured near that hobo/bear den opening to get a better look. Hmmm... PVC tubing peeking out from that opening.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I wonder how old this place actually is? Seems to be a mishmash of construction techniques. My guess no earlier than the 20’s, just because the use of concrete and cinder blocks.

Plot twist: Agrajag had been murdered by some creepy fuck from the middle of the woods and that guy is posting as Agrajag.

Neat! I love me some good ruins.

Also, that definitely looks like water vapor, so those are most likely some cooling towers at some sort of power plant or factory. Probably one that doesn’t produce much air pollution, because there doesn’t appear to be any actual smoke. So... I dunno. Probably just witchcraft.

Definitely cooling towers, I don’t know if I can see the outline or my eyes are just saying they’re there, but they’re there. It doesn’t need to be a nuke plant, all power plants that heat water have cooling towers, coal, gas, etc.

It looks like the brick marked ‘acido’ is a refractory brick once made in Pa, and the numbers may refer to a ratio of ingredients for it’s specific use. Interesting mish-mash, like you say, using refractory brick as decorative steps.

Interesting. I wonder why they would have had that one facing up? Maybe thought,”This’ll make ‘em think.”

Yeah, I see bricks with makers marks just around, especially in the touristy-er parts of town. It’s just a thing. But I like the notion someone could see it and think it’s a spooky homemade grave or something.

These are really cool. I wonder if it’s a designated nature trail or something, or a protected area and the path is kept up for wildlife officials. The little outhouse building has all its shingles and stuff. And is that glass in that little peephole? Dude, you might be on someone’s wildlife cam! :)

Good thing I was wearing my Sasquatch outfit. :)

A quick google maps search doesn’t reveal it to be any conserved/state lands. Guess I was trespassing.

Should have stayed after dark - maybe a little ghost girl would have given you a quest.

That would be pretty awesome.

I’m not familiar with this game, but I can only guess that her quests reveal the sad nature of her ghost form acquisition.

Pretty much. It’s funny because I kept looking at your pics and thinking, jeez that looks familiar. Then I was like, D-OH!

Kinja'd!!!

They have several of these houses throughout Skyrim. A couple of them are still on fire, and if you rifle around on the floor you can find a couple of leftover high-level fire scrolls. :)

You should. It’s rather amusing and rewarding to wanderer types. :)
